Innovation in the field of sustainable urban development and in the context of climate change is perhaps the core principle behind our work and is the very reason why ENEF concept was founded. For us, innovation is not just about coming up with new ideas but also about identifying practical pathways for their realisation within existing systems and actors. We therefore aim to test our assumptions and experiment with possibilities for market implementation by getting in direct contact with important stakeholders and decision makers. We do this by taking part in innovation competitions organized by cities and large companies, which aim to find solutions for concrete problems they are facing. By doing so, we benefit from receiving external knowledge and learn about present or anticipated problems, what are the barriers for them not being solved today as well as future progress goals. According to all of these inputs, we adjust and improve our ideas and approach.

We have been numerous times awarded and selected finalists in international competitions organized in Serbia, Germany, Norway, Sweden, and Iceland. As a result, ENEF concept has gained international recognition as a climate-positive business, thus since 2017 we are part of EIT Climate-KIC network, Europe’s leading public-private partnership tackling climate change through innovation.
